300 De Haro is coming soon! This innovative project is bringing beautiful design and thoughtful amenities to San Francisco’s missing middle.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Potrero Hill, 300 De Haro will feature 425 fully furnished and unfurnished studio units, designed for individuals and families earning between 30% and 70% of the area median income ($41k-$95k). The building will stand out among its peers, offering first-rate quality, sophisticated design, and a full suite of amenities comparable to market-rate developments.

Originally approved in 2020, 300 De Haro was one of the first mixed-income projects in San Francisco to leverage SB-35 to streamline the approval process. San Francisco-based DM Development continues to stay true to its mission: to create groundbreaking properties with striking architectural design and amenities that enhance and uplift the neighborhoods which it calls home. DM Development is excited to be partnering with MRK Partners, Inc., a leader in affordable housing nationwide, to create homes that are both beautiful and affordable by design.

Thoughtfully designed studio units include a murphy bed that converts from a sofa and coffee/dining table by day to a queen-sized bed, ensuring convenience and accessibility for residents. Additionally, all units will include a kitchenette, an ensuite bathroom, and a work area.

300 De Haro is located in the vibrant Potrero Hill neighborhood in southeastern San Francisco. This area offers excellent access to major highways (US 101/80 and I-280) and public transportation options, including Caltrain, MUNI, and BART. The flat terrain of Potrero Hill makes 300 De Haro highly walkable and bikeable, with many newly added bike lanes. As a bonus, the neighborhood offers some of the most stunning views of the San Francisco skyline and bay.

As one of the largest affordable housing communities to break ground in San Francisco in over five years, 300 De Haro also holds the distinction of being one of  the first mixed-income projects in the city to utilize SB-35, streamlining the approval process and setting a new precedent for future developments.

DM Development has a reputation for thoughtful vision and superior execution. In conjunction with MRK Partners, Inc., who is known for using innovative funding sources and creative capital structuring, 300 De Haro will provide residents with newly constructed, beautiful housing that seamlessly incorporates well-being-focused programming and amenities. The project is funded through a diverse range of sources, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Tax-Exempt Bond Financing administered by the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee (CDLAC) and the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (CTCAC).

While the overall design remains largely consistent, there have been a few modest changes. The building has been reduced from 12 to 11 stories, and the total number of units has slightly decreased from 450 to 425. Notably, the design still includes a 7,000-square-foot outdoor green space located directly behind the building.

300 De Haro is thoughtfully designed to support a diverse community of middle-income earners who have been priced out of San Francisco’s traditional rental market. The units will be available to individuals and families earning between 30% and 70% of the area median income, approximately $41,000 to $95,000 per year, based on current figures.

Yes. 300 De Haro will feature approximately 6,000 square feet of retail space along 16th Street and De Haro Street. The project team has established agreements with the site’s former retail tenants to support both temporary and permanent relocation plans. Additionally, we are actively exploring opportunities to welcome back one or more of these tenants to the new site, should they wish to return.

The leasing process is expected to begin in 2026 with initial occupancy anticipated for June 2027. Interested parties are encouraged to fill out our interest list form, and we will follow up with more information as it becomes available.

Thompson Builders is the general contractor, one of California’s most trusted, reliable, and versatile general contractors. It is partnering with Metropolitan Trade Outreach, a 501(c)(3) organization that equips local youth with hands-on apprenticeship experience. Through a six-year apprenticeship program, underprivileged high school seniors and recent graduates contribute to government-funded revitalization efforts while building careers with high earning potential and long-term stability—particularly in the growing HVAC and plumbing industries across the Bay Area.

Construction began in July 2025, with an anticipated completion date in Summer 2027.
