With 182 below market rate affordable homes, 300 De Haro will create an estimated 20% of total affordable housing output annually, and 40% of the non-subsidized output. These homes will be provided at various levels of affordability for earners in various industries in San Francisco, from service workers, to public servants (like teachers and City staffers) to professionals (like nurses) of all ages and industries.
The majority of these units will be set aside for workers earning between $45K – $75K per year. These “missing middle” workers have historically not been provided with a wide array of housing options and either live in larger homes in San Francisco with many roommates or commute long distances often by car due to the lack of transit options in the distant exurbs of San Francisco. Providing homes near jobs improves quality of life for workers, allows small businesses and non-profits to more easily connect with local workers and allows people to embrace a convenient and environmentally sustainable car-free urban lifestyle.
Even the market rate units in the building will be rented at the most accessible end of the rent spectrum in San Francisco, less costly than a studio or one-bedroom, but with more generous amenities and more opportunities to enjoy a diverse, supportive, and vibrant community.

The project will achieve a rating of GreenPoint Rated Silver and is planning to be all electric (except for possible single restaurant gas meter). The very low parking ratio, infill location, and TDM supporting amenities result in a significant carbon reduction per capita by supporting car-free lifestyles. As is the case with all new construction in SF, this project will exceed California’s stringent Title-24 energy efficiency requirements and will include rooftop solar panels to further reduce electrical use. Highly efficient design also ensures that water use is minimized. Renewable resources will be sourced whenever possible, and enhanced air filtration and quality finishes ensure optimal indoor air quality.
